Further info: This report found the mainland winter habitat is unlikely to have declined significantly since 1983 in a structural or compositional sense to explain the decline in Orange-bellied Parrot population. The number of individuals counted during coordinated winter surveys has declined from 70-90 individuals in the 1980s (with a peak of 122 in 1983) to fewer than 20 in each year since 2001 and fewer than 10 in the last 5 years.

Further info: This report found wetlands are highly vulnerable to cropping because a large number of their attributes (soil, seed bank, vegetation, invertebrates, vertebrates, water regime, water quality) and processes (germination, establishment, trophic interactions) are sensitive to the physical and chemical disturbances applied in cropping. The approximately 20,000 privately owned wetlands of natural origin are at the highest risk.

Title: A comparison of vertical and horizontal camera trap orientations for detection of potoroos and bandicoots.

Finding: This study looked at the most effective orientation of remote cameras. Vertical cameras were found to have a 2–5 times higher detection rate than horizontal cameras for species such as the Long-nosed Potoroo and the Southern Brown Bandicoot. Vertical cameras also increased the ease of species identification.

Further info: The objective of herbicide-wiping is to kill all of the pest plants without killing adjacent native species. It is very useful in situations where broad-scale spraying is not practical due to non-target species overspray. It is very good for treating species like Cape Tulip, Sparaxis, African Weed Orchid, Wild Gladiolus or other weeds of similar structure which can be individually wiped.

Title: International Standards for the Practice of Ecological Restoration
Source/Author: Society for Ecological Restoration (SER). In 2016, SER released International Standards for the Practice of Ecological Restoration at the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) 13^th Conference of the Parties (COP) in Cancun, Mexico.
These Standards, built on many other SER foundation documents, provide a framework for designing, implementing and monitoring ecological restoration projects in any ecosystem, anywhere in the world. The Standards were released as a living document so they can be revised and updated as needed to incorporate new knowledge and perspectives.

Title: Conservation Action Plan for the Victorian Volcanic Plain
Source/Author: Koch, P.J. and Wong, N. (2015). A collaborative landscape conservation plan for the Victorian Volcanic Plain. Summary report. Greening Australia and Trust for Nature.
